CITY OF QUINCY NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS Date of Public Hearing before the Quincy City Council:Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at 6:00pm. Description of Proposal : The City of Quincy is required by RCW 36.70A.535 (GMA) to allow co-living housing as a permitted use on any lot that allows at least six multifamily residential units, including on a lot zoned for mixed-use development, by December 31, 2025. The Department of Commerce has provided a Model Ordinance; it has been slightly amended for Quincy and will be presented. Requested Approvals, Actions and/or Required Studies: The adoption of an ordinance requires two Public Hearings, one before Planning Commission and one before City Council, and final approval of the City Council. Statement of Public Comment Period: The public is encouraged to provide written comments prior to the public hearing by 5:00 pm. Any interested person/party has the right to comment on the proposed ordinance during the comment period, receive notice of and participate in any hearing, request a copy of the decision once it is made and may appeal the decision subject to the requirements of Quincy Municipal Code Chapter 17. Statement of Preliminary Determination:The development regulations that will be used for project mitigation and to provide consistency with the type of land use for the proposed site are outlined in the Quincy Comprehensive Plan and QMC Chapter 17 Development Code and Chapter 20 Zoning Code. Notice of Public Hearing before the Planning Commission: Pursuant to Quincy Municipal Code Chapter 17, a public hearing is scheduled to hear public comment on the proposed ordinance. The public is invited to attend and provide comments on this proposal. After the public hearing, the Planning Commission may recommend approval, denial, or approval with conditions of the proposed ordinance to the City Council. The Public Hearing is scheduled before the Quincy Planning Commission on Monday, January 12th at 6:30pm at 115 First Ave SW, Quincy, WA 98848.
