PUBLIC NOTICE King County Fire Protection District 45 has nominated applicant John OGara to fill vacant for Commissioner Position #1 Overview Applicant John OGara was nominated to fill this vacant Commissioner position, during the regular meeting of the District 45 Board of Fire Commissioners on February 11, 2026. Registered voters, residing in the District, may submit applications or nominations until 5:00 p.m. on Monday, March 2, 2026. The appointment and Oath of Office will be conducted at the March 11, 2026, regular monthly District 45 Board Meeting. The chosen applicant will fill the term through 2027 and will have the opportunity to run in the November 2027 election. Requirements Applicants must be a registered voter, residing within the boundaries of the District. Applicants should be available for monthly Board of Commissioners meetings, as well as interim ad hoc and special meetings. Upon acceptance by the Board of Commissioners to serve the remaining term, the new Commissioner is required by law to file annual public disclosure statements.
