Western Washington University seeks bids for fire alarm system upgrades.

SECTION 00 11 00 – ADVERTISEMENT FOR BID
Western Washington University is seeking proposals for the following project:
MB Electronic Safety Upgrades, PW856, a project involving the full replacement of the fire alarm system at Engineering Technology and additive alternates for select fire alarm device replacements at Miller Hall and Communications Facility. The Architect/Engineer's estimate for base bid plus additive alternates: $1,400,000. In accordance with RCW 39.04.320, all projects with an estimated maximum allowable construction cost (MACC) of one million dollars or more require a minimum 15% Apprenticeship Participation.
Prebid Conference will be held at 10:00 am, February 26, 2026. The meeting can be attended either in person at WWU's Physical Plant, 915 26th St, Bellingham WA, conference room 309; or virtually via Microsoft Teams, call in # (206) 800-4437, Conference ID 601 141 580#, or access the link at Bidding | Capital Planning and Development | Western Washington University (wwu.edu). For an emailed invitation to the Teams meeting contact the project manager (see iv. below). Attendance is encouraged but not required to bid.
Prebid Site Walk will be held directly after the Prebid Conference at approximately 10:30am, February 26, 2026 at Engineering Technology.  Parking permits are required to park on campus and are obtainable through online parking portal at Home | Transportation Services | Western Washington University (wwu.edu) (https://transportation.wwu.edu), Parkmobile mobile app, and campus pay stations.
Bid Submittal: Bids must be submitted by 2:00pm, March 12, 2026. A virtual bid opening meeting will be held via Microsoft Teams at that time; call-in # (206) 800-4437, conference ID 380 184 274#. To receive invite via email, contact the project manager by email (see iii. below).
Potential bidders must access Trimble Unity Construct's online bidding portal (rebranded from e-Builder) for all bid documents, potential bidder questions and addenda. Access to Trimble Unity Construct's bid portal for this specific project can be found at Bidding | Facilities Development & Operations | Western Washington University (wwu.edu) (https://fdo.wwu.edu/bidding) on the bidding page by selecting the PW856 MB Electronic Safety Upgrades button.
Bids will need to be submitted through Trimble Unity Construct's online bidding portal (link referenced above). Potential bidders will need to submit bids electronically through the Trimble Unity Construct on-line bidding portal, in lieu of the section 00 41 00 - Bid Form. Only Bids submitted through Trimble Unity Construct's Bid Portal will be accepted. Potential bidders are highly encouraged to prepare and submit bid submittals prior to the deadline in order to reduce the likelihood of any last-minute technical issues.
i. Please Note: The Trimble Unity Construct bidding portal is a separate platform and you will need to create a new account the first time you use it, even if you already have an Trimble Unity Construct login.
