Corte Madera Town Council seeks applications for various advisory committees.

The Corte Madera Town Council is requesting applications from residents who may be interested in joining any of the following Boards, Commissions or Committees (Advisory Bodies): Planning Commission, Flood Control Board, Finance Advisory Committee, Sales Tax Citizens' Oversight Committee, Parks and Recreation Commission, Bicycle Pedestrian Advisory Committee, and Climate Action Committee. All Corte Madera residents who are registered voters of the Town are eligible to apply for appointment unless otherwise specified in the Municipal Code (there are youth memberships available for persons under the age of 18 for the Parks and Recreation Commission, Climate Action Committee, and Bicycle Pedestrian Advisory Committee). Bicycle Pedestrian Advisory Committee advises the Council and staff in identifying issues related to bicycle, pedestrian circulation, transportation safety, compliance with accessibility laws, and safety concerns in the Town and in exploring and building consensus for potential solutions. The twoyear terms of three (3) Committee Members and oneyear term of the Youth Member are expiring on June 30, 2026. The twoyear terms of three (3) Committee Members and oneyear term of the Youth Member are expiring on June 30, 2026. Meetings are held monthly on the 3 rd Wednesday of the month from 4:30PM to 6:00PM. www.cortemadera.gov/876/ClimateActionCommittee Finance Advisory Committee advises the Council/Sanitary District No. 2 (SD2) Board on fiscal policy, investment and financing strategies, and other matters related to the longterm fiscal health of the Town and SD2. The twoyear terms of two (2) Committee Members are expiring on June 30, 2026. The Committee meets on the 1 st Thursday of the months of February, May, August and November at 6:00PM. www.cortemadera.gov/1277/FinanceAdvisoryCommittee Flood Control Board advises the Council on all matters affecting flooding in Corte Madera. Examples of duties of the board are to review and report on the flooding impact of current and proposed flood control and storm drain projects, and to review and report on flood management plans in order to define what actions are necessary to reduce flood conditions in the Town. The twoyear terms of four (4) Board Members are expiring on June 30, 2026. Meetings are held bimonthly on the 2 nd Monday of even months at 6:30PM. www.cortemadera.gov/225/FloodControlBoard Parks and Recreation Commission recommends policy and procedures for parks and recreational facilities, recreation programs, park development and park maintenance. The twoyear terms of three (3) Commissioners and oneyear term of the Youth Commissioner are expiring on June 30, 2026 . The Commission meets on the 4 th Monday of each month at 6:30PM. www.cortemadera.gov/222/ParksRecreationCommission Planning Commission serves as an advisory body to the Town Council on all planning and development issues. The Commission functions as the decisionmaking body for housing and commercial project applications for new construction, remodels and conditional use permits. The Commission is also charged with implementing the General Plan and providing recommendations on all landuse policy. The Commission's actions are final but can be appealed to the Town Council, which can either uphold the Commission's decision, overturn it, modify it, or send it back for further study. The twoyear terms of three (3) Commissioners are expiring on June 30, 2026. The Commission meets on the 2 nd and 4 th Tuesday of each month at 7:00PM with occasional study sessions scheduled as needed. www.cortemadera.gov/189/PlanningCommission Sales Tax Citizens' Oversight Committee is responsible for reviewing revenue receipts and expenditures of the Transactions and Use Tax (the current 3/4cent sales tax override, approved by voters in June, 2018). We encourage applicants to provide as much information about themselves as possible within their application submittal. If you are selected for an interview, you will be notified by May 8, 2026. Interviews are conducted by the full Town Council at a special meeting prior to a Council regular meeting (which typically begin at 6:30PM). The first round of applications received by the application deadline will be considered, and interviews will be scheduled for the afternoon of Tuesday, May 19 th or June 2 nd between approximately 4:00PM and 6:30PM.
