NEVADA COUNTY PLANNING COMMISSION SPECIAL MEETINGNOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING Notice is hereby given that on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at 1:40 p.m. or as soon thereafter, as the matter may be heard, in the Board Chambers of the Eric Rood Administrative Center, at 950 Maidu Avenue, Nevada City, California, the Nevada County Planning Commission will hold a public hearing for the following project: 1:40 p.m. PLN25-0106; CUP25-0005: A Conditional Use Permit application proposing to allow a special events venue for up to 150 guests. Events will be held outside and within a 4,800-sq.-ft. barn between the hours of 9am-10pm. The frequency of events is a maximum of 50 times per year. LOCATION: 13447 American Ranch Court, Grass Valley, CA 95949. Approximately 0.1 mile south of McCourtney Road, 3.0 miles southwest of the City of Grass Valley in unincorporated western Nevada County. ASSESSOR’S PARCEL NUMBER: 025-580-008. RECOMMENDED ENVIRONMENTAL DETERMINATION: Adopt the Mitigated Negative Declaration and Mitigation Monitoring and Reporting Plan pursuant to Section 15074 and 15097 of the California Environmental Quality Act. RECOMMENDED PROJECT ACTION: Recommend approval of a Conditional Use Permit for a Special Events Center. PROJECT PLANNER: Aleena Church, Assistant Planner. This meeting is open to in-person attendance. This meeting is broadcast live on Nevada County Media Channel 17 in the Western County and on Suddenlink Channel 78 in the Eastern County and can be viewed live through the web at http://nevco.granicus.com/ViewPublisher.php?view_id=19 or on Nevada County’s YouTube:https://www.youtube.com/@CountyofNevadaCA/streams.Closed Captioning is available for hearing impaired viewers. The public may also participate in the meeting using the information below. For information on how to participate in the public hearing, please see the Agenda, which will be available at least five (5) days before the meeting at https://nevadacountyca.gov/AgendaCenter/Planning-Commission-10. Members of the public may also provide public comment by US Mail or via email to the Planning Department at planning@nevadacountyca.gov. Seven (7) days prior to the public hearing, all documents pertaining to the proposed actions, Staff Reports and other supporting documents will be available upon request for public review and consideration at the Nevada County Planning Department, 950 Maidu Avenue, Suite 170, Nevada City, CA 95959 or can be found online at: https://www.nevadacountyca.gov/1752/Planning-Commission. You have the right to attend the Planning Commission meeting and public hearing to provide oral testimony and comment, and/or to submit written materials regarding the potential actions. Any person wishing to offer testimony on this matter should appear at the public hearing or may submit written comments (an original and 8 copies) to the Clerk of the Planning Commission at or prior to the scheduled meeting. The Planning Commission Chair may place reasonable restrictions on the time allowed to any person to speak on these matters.
