CITY OF LA PUENTEPLANNING COMMISSIONNOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Planning Commission of the City of La Puente will hold a public hearing at a regular meeting on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at 7:00 p.m., in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, 15900 East Main Street, La Puente, California, to consider the following matter: 1. GENERAL PLAN ADMENDMENT NO. 26-01 & MUNICIPAL CODE AMENDMENT NO. 26-01 - Consideration of a Resolution by the Planning Commission recommending that the City Council approve amendments to the General Plan Land Use Element and Title 10 (Zoning) of the La Puente Municipal Code, to implement 6th Cycle Housing Element Programs 3A, 3B, and 3C, including establishment of the Religious Congregational Sites and Housing Reuse Overlays, updates to the Official Zoning Map, and related environmental review pursuant to CEQA. NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that the proposed project has been reviewed in accordance with CEQA. An Addendum to the previously adopted 6th Cycle Housing Element Negative Declaration has been prepared pursuant to CEQA Guidelines Sections 15162 and 15164. 2. MUNICIPAL CODE AMENDMENT NO. 26-02 - Consideration of a Resolution of the Planning Commission recommending that the City Council adopt an ordinance establishing citywide objective design standards for multifamily and mixed-use residential development projects in accordance with State law. NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that Municipal Code Amendment No. 26-02 is exempt from CEQA pursuant to CEQA Guidelines Section 15061(b)(3) (Common Sense Exemption). A Notice of Exemption has been prepared for the project. The agenda, staff report, and related materials may be reviewed at the Development Services Department (La Puente City Hall – 15900 E. Main Street) or on the City’s website at www.lapuente.org at least 72 hours prior to the public hearing. Specific questions can be directed to the Planning Division at (626) 855-1538. All interested persons are invited to inspect the project file and provide testimony during the public hearing. Methods to provide public comment: In Person: Public comment may be provided in-person at City Hall, 15900 E. Main Street on the date and time of the noticed meeting. In Writing: Written comments may be submitted via email to nramirez@lapuente.org no later than two (2) hours prior to the meeting start time. Email comments will be distributed to the Planning Commissioners and will become part of the official record but will not be read aloud during the meeting. To ensure proper receipt, please include the subject line “PUBLIC COMMENT.” Written comments may also be submitted via U.S. Mail to the address above or by hand delivery to the City of La Puente drop box at City Hall. Mailed or hand-delivered comments must be received 30 minutes prior to the start of the meeting.
