NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Planning Commission will hold a public hearing in the Orinda Library Auditorium at 26 Orinda Way to consider a recommendation to the City Council regarding: An ordinance adopting the Citywide Objective Design Standards (ODS) to apply to qualifying residential development projects, those that State law identifies as eligible and are required to be evaluated based on objective standards. The adoption of the Citywide ODS is intended to bring Orinda's regulation of the section below in conformance with State housing law. Amending the Orinda Municipal Code (OMC), within Title 17, Zoning, as follows: �17.4.35 Citywide Objective Design Standards (new section) The Citywide ODS would be applicable in areas designated as residential High Density Overlay (HD-Overlay), Senior Housing Overlay (SH-Overlay), Residential High Density (RH-25; RH-40); Residential Medium Density (RM), Residential Low Density (RLV-E, RLV, RL-40, RL-20, RL-15, RL-12, RL-10, RL-6) and Open Space (OS). The Citywide ODS document dated February 2026 will be incorporated by reference and can be viewed at the following Box link: https://cityoforinda.box.com/v/PD-CitywideODS Meetings are held in person, with a Zoom streaming option. REMOTE COMMENTS: Remote Public Comments have been temporarily suspended due to an increase in "Zoombombing" at public agency meetings, which include offensive and derogatory statements.
