NOTICE OF INTENT TO ESTABLISH AND IMPOSE FEES MORAGA-ORINDA FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT BOARD OF DIRECTORS NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a Public Hearing will be held for the Moraga-Orinda Fire District Board of Directors to consider enacting the following proposed ordinance: ORDINANCE NO. 26-03: AN ORDINANCE OF THE MORAGA-ORINDA FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY REVISING A SCHEDULE OF FEES FOR DISTRICT SERVICES AND SUPERSEDING ORDINANCE NO. 25-01. All interested parties are invited to attend the public hearing on April 15, 2026, at 7:00 p.m., at the Orinda Library Auditorium, 26 Orinda Way, Orinda, CA 94563. This meeting will be conducted in a hybrid format, and the public may attend in person or virtually. Details on how to participate will be available on the published April 15, 2026, agenda for the Board of Directors at www.mofd.org/agendas. SUMMARY OF THE PROPOSED ORDINANCE: The purpose of this ordinance is to establish fees that are no more than necessary to cover the reasonable costs of District governmental activities, and that the manner in which those costs are allocated to a payor bears a fair or reasonable relationship to the payor's burdens on or benefits received from the District's governmental activities. Ordinance No. 26-03: Revises the fee schedule to recover the costs of providing services and enforcing regulations, including updates based on cost recovery principles and other adjustments. The fees are charged against public agencies as well as private persons and entities. The fees may also be waived when payment would not be in the public interest. All interested parties are invited to submit written comments regarding the matter prior to the hearing or to participate in the public hearing.
