NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING FOR SEWER SERVICE CHARGE CHANGES FOR COUNTY SERVICE AREA 7 ZONE 2 - BIG BASIN WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT **************************************************************** NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of Supervisors has scheduled Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. or thereafter, County Government Center, 701 Ocean Street, Basement Community Room, 020, Santa Cruz, California, to allow public input and comments, if any, and to consider adoption of a resolution establishing the proposed sewer charges shown below. These charges would be effective July 1, 2026. CSA No. CSA Name Rate Code 2026-27 Rates $ per year 7 Zone 2 Single Family (Connected to Sewer) $5,345.62 Boulder Creek* Fire Station $10,691.24 Accessory Dwelling Unit $2,672.81 Stand By (Vacant Buildable Parcel) $1,336.41 * The rates above reflect a 40 percent increase. A 70 percent rate increase was presented to residents of CSA 7 Zone 2 by CDI at a community meeting held on February 12, 2026, and was also presented to the Board on March 10, 2026. On May 5, 2026, the Board will consider an interfund loan of $35,000 from CDI reserves that if approved would reduce the proposed rate increase from 70 percent to 40 percent. CSA 7 Zone 2 will repay this loan over four years.
