NOTICE OF INTENTION TO ADOPT ORDINANCE NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of County Commissioners of Polk County, Florida, on March 3, 2026, at 9:00 a.m., or as soon thereafter, in the Boardroom of the Polk County Administrative Building, 330 West Church Street, Bartow, Florida, will consider adopting an ordinance the title and substance of said proposed ordinance being: AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF POLK COUNTY, FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING A PROHIBITION ON UNAUTHORIZED SIGNS IN THE RIGHT-OF-WAY; PROVIDING FOR FINDINGS OF FACT AND LEGISLATIVE INTENT; PROVIDING FOR DEFINITIONS; ESTABLISHING A MECHANISM UTILIZING IMMEDIATE FINES FOR PLACEMENT AND COST RECOVERY FOR REMOVAL; ESTABLISHING A PRESUMPTION OF LIABILITY FOR BENEFICIAL USERS; PROVIDING FOR THE IMPOSITION OF COSTS AND FINES; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. The proposed ordinance may be inspected by the public at the Office of the Clerk and Auditor to the Board, located in the Polk County Administrative Building on the 3 rd Floor, during normal business hours. All persons wishing to speak upon the adoption of this ordinance are invited to attend the public hearing and they shall be heard. Should any person decide to appeal any decision made at this public hearing, such person will need a record of the proceedings and may need to ensure that a verbatim record of these proceedings is made, including the testimony and evidence on which the appeal is to be based. In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, persons with disabilities needing special accommodations or an interpreter to participate in this public hearing should contact the Boards Communications Office, located in the Polk County Administration Building, 1 ST Floor at (863) 534-6090, not later than four days prior to the public hearing.
