NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING The Board of County Commissioners of DeSoto County, Florida will consider the adoption of an ordinance at its regularly scheduled meeting on February 24, 2026, at 3:00 PM or as soon thereafter as it may be heard, in the County Commission Meeting Room 103, Administration Building 201 East Oak Street Arcadia Florida as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF DESOTO COUNTY, FLORIDA, REPEALING AND REPLACING ARTICLE I IN GENERAL OF CHAPTER 4 ANIMAL CONTROL; PROVIDING FOR REPEALER; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. The proposed ordinance may be inspected by the public at the DeSoto County Administration Building, 201 East Oak Street, Suite 201, Arcadia, Florida. Interested parties may appear and be heard at the public hearing with respect to the proposed ordinance. Members of the public are advised that if any person decides to appeal any decision made by the Board with respect to any matter considered at a board meeting or hearing, he or she will need a record of the proceeding, and that, for such purpose, he or she may need to ensure that verbatim record of the proceeding is made, which record included the testimony and evidence upon which, the appeal is made. If special accommodations are required in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, individuals should contact the County Administrators Office by calling 863-993-4800 at least forty-eight hours prior to the meeting.
