NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING FOR A VARIANCE REQUEST HEARING NUMBER BOA 2000 YOU ARE HEREBY NOTIFIED that a PUBLIC HEARING will be held before the Highlands County Board of Adjustment on the 14th day of April 2026, beginning at 3:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as possible, in the County Commissioners Board Room, Highlands County Government Center Building, 600 South Commerce Avenue, Sebring, Florida, to consider a variance of 7.0 feet to allow an 18-foot rear yard setback instead of the required 25 feet to reconstruct a damaged dwelling, at 108 Foxhunt Avenue, Lake Placid, within the area described as follows: The East 85.98 feet of the West 110.98 feet of the North 101.94 feet of the South 407.76 feet of the North 1/2 of the North 1/2 of the Southeast Quarter of Section 8, Township 37 South, Range 30 East, Highlands County, Florida; being Lots 19 and 22 of an unrecorded subdivision entitled East Highway Park Subdivision, as described in a deed and or probate recorded in Book 1144, Page 957, of the Public Records of Highlands County, Florida. Any person or persons interested or affected by this change are invited to attend this hearing. You may submit comments in writing to the attention of Melony Culpepper, Planning and Zoning Supervisor, 501 South Commerce Avenue, Sebring, Florida 33870, or you may call (863) 402-6638, for further information. ALL INTERESTED PERSONS ARE INVITED TO ATTEND. All interested persons may appear and be heard at the time and place specified above. Any person who might wish to appeal any decision made by this committee/group, in public hearing or meeting is hereby advised that he or she will need a record of the proceedings, and that, for such purpose, he or she may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record will include the testimony and evidence upon which such appeal is to be based. The Board of Adjustment and the Board of County Commissioners of Highlands County, Florida, do not discriminate upon the basis of any individuals disability status. This non-discriminatory policy involves every aspect of the Boards functions, including ones access to, participation, employment or treatment in its programs or activities.
