CITY OF MELBOURNE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN


The City of Melbourne, Florida, proposes to adopt the following resolution:


RESOLUTION NO. 4412
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF MELBOURNE, BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA, RELATING TO THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN; MAKING FINDINGS; AUTHORIZING THE TRANSMITTAL OF AN AMENDMENT TO THE FUTURE LAND USE MAP OF THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN TO THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE, BUREAU OF COMPREHENSIVE PLANNING, PURSUANT TO THE LOCAL COMMUNITY PLANNING ACT; ESTABLISHING A LOW DENSITY RESIDENTIAL FUTURE LAND USE MAP CLASSIFICATION ON A 120.65+-ACRE SITE LOCATED EAST OF THE SAINT JOHNS HERITAGE PARKWAY, SOUTH OF THE MELBOURNE TILLMAN C-63 CANAL AND NORTH OF THE MELBOURNE TILLMAN C-54 CANAL IN TOWNSHIP 28, RANGE 36, SECTION 15; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE; AND PROVIDING FOR ADOPTION. A public hearing on the resolution will be held on March 24, 2026 in the Council Chamber of City Hall, 900 East Strawbridge Avenue. The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m.


A complete copy of the resolution and related documents may be inspected by any interested person Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. in the Community Development Department (Third Floor) in City Hall. Interested parties may submit written comments at or before the public hearing or attend the public hearing to be heard by the City Council regarding the ordinances. The public is encouraged to attend the public hearing. The hearing may be continued from time to time.
Pursuant to Section 286.0105, Florida Statutes, the City hereby advises the public that: If a person decides to appeal any decision made by the City Council with respect to any matter considered at its meeting or hearing, he will need a record of the proceedings, and that for such purpose, affected persons may need to insure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.
In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 286.26, Florida Statutes, persons with disabilities needing special accommodation to participate in this meeting should contact the City Clerks Office (321-608-7220) at least 48 hours prior to the meeting.
