NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
On Thursday, March 9, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers, 1st Floor of City Hall, 222 West Main Street, Pensacola, FL, the Pensacola City Council will conduct a public hearing to receive the benefit of citizen input for the purpose of considering:
ESCAMBIA CHILDREN'S TRUST'S REQUEST FOR EXEMPTION UNDER SECTION 163.387, FLORIDA STATUTES
Escambia Children's Trust is an independent taxing district established in 2020 to invest in programs and services for children, and it levies ad valorem taxes against, among others, properties located within the City of Pensacola's Urban Core Redevelopment Area, Westside Redevelopment Area, and Eastside Redevelopment Area and subject to those Redevelopment Areas' respective community redevelopment plans ("Plans"). The Escambia Children's Trust is not mentioned within any of the Plans, and the Plans have minimal impact upon Escambia Children's Trust.
You are not required to respond or take any action regarding this notice; but if you wish to speak before City Council on this subject, you are invited to be present at the scheduled hearing. The agenda package can be accessed on the City's website upon availability: https://pensacolafl.portal.civicclerk.com/. The meeting may also be viewed live stream at: https://cityofpensacola.com/video.
If any person decides to appeal any decision made with respect to any matter considered at this meeting, such person will need a record of the proceedings, and that for such purpose, he/she may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.
