NOTICE OF PROPOSED ORDINANCE The City of Daytona Beach Shores, Florida, will hold Public Hearings to consider adoption of the following ordinance: ORDINANCE NO. 2026-05 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF DAYTONA BEACH SHORES, FLORIDA, RELATING TO ADDITIONAL SIGNAGE ALLOWED FOR BUSINESSES; AMENDING THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF ORDINANCES, APPENDIX G - LAND DEVELOPMENT CODE, BY AMENDING SECTION 2-5 ENTITLED "SIGNS AND ADVERTISING DEFINITIONS", BY CREATING A DEFINITION FOR A-FRAME SIGNS; AMENDING SECTION 6-8. ENTITLED "PERMITTED SIGNS"; AMENDING SECTION 6-9. ENTITLED "DISTRICT REGULATIONS"; PROVIDING FOR LEGISLATIVE FINDINGS AND INTENT; PROVIDING FOR ENFORCEMENT AND PENALTIES; PROVIDING FOR A SAVINGS PROVISION; PROVIDING FOR CODIFICATION; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTING ORDINANCES; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE; AND PROVIDING FOR A TERMINATION DATE. The next Public Hearing is scheduled as follows: Planning & Zoning Board: Friday, May 15, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. City Commission (first reading): Tuesday, June 2, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. The public hearings will be held in the City Commission Chambers in the Community Center located at 3000 Bellemead Drive, Daytona Beach Shores, Florida. The complete ordinance can be obtained from the office of the City Clerk located at 2990 S. Atlantic Avenue, Daytona Beach Shores, Florida. All interested parties are invited to appear at the public hearings and submit oral or written objections or comments with respect to the proposed amendment. Anyone who wishes to appeal any decision by the Planning & Zoning Board or City Commission with respect to any matter considered at said public hearing will need a record of public hearing proceedings, including all testimony and evidence, and should arrange in advance for the making of a verbatim transcript of the public hearing. The public hearings may be continued to one or more dates. The dates, times, and places of any continuation of the public hearing will be announced at the location of the meeting and no further notice regarding said continuation is required to be published. NOTE: Individuals covered by the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 in need of accommodations for this public meeting should contact the office of the City Clerk at the telephone number and address noted at least seven working days prior to the meeting.
