NOTICE OF INTENT TO CONSIDER ORDINANCE
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN by the County Council of Volusia County, Florida, of its intention to consider the adoption of an ordinance at its regularly scheduled meeting on April 21, 2026, at no sooner than 4:30 p.m. in the County Council Meeting Room, Thomas C. Kelly Administration Center, 123 West Indiana Avenue, DeLand, Florida, the title of which ordinance shall read as follows:
ORDINANCE 2026-10
AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNTY COUNCIL OF VOLUSIA COUNTY, FLORIDA, AMENDING THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE COUNTY OF VOLUSIA; AMENDING CHAPTER 2, ARTICLE III, SECTION 2-91 COUNTY MANAGER BY INCREASING THE COUNTY MANAGERS SETTLEMENT AUTHORITY; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTING ORDINANCES; AUTHORIZING INCLUSION IN CODE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
The Public Hearing may be continued to one or more dates. The dates, times and places of any continuation of the Public Hearing will be announced at the Public Hearing and no further notice regarding said continuation is required to be published. Anyone who wishes to appeal any decision by the County Council with respect to any matter considered at said Public Hearing will need a record of Public Hearing proceedings, including all testimony and evidence, and should arrange in advance for the making of a verbatim transcript of the Public Hearing.
To obtain more detailed information or to inspect the proposed Ordinance any interested party may appear between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, at the Volusia County Managers Office, 3rd Floor, Thomas C. Kelly Administration Center, 123 West Indiana Avenue, DeLand, Florida, or telephone (386) 736-5920.
In accordance with the requirements of Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 ("ADA"), the County of Volusia (County) will not discriminate against qualified individuals with disabilities on the basis of disability in its services, programs, or activities. Anyone who requires an auxiliary aid or service for effective communication, or a modification of policies or procedures to participate in a program, service, or activity of County, should contact the office of the Countys ADA Title II Coordinator, Jim Corbett, at (386) 248-1760 as soon as possible but no later than two business days before the scheduled event or meeting. This paragraph shall likewise apply to written requests by a physically handicapped person needing a special accommodation to attend a public meeting in accordance with section 286.26, Florida Statutes.
