PUBLIC NOTICE
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Gulf County Board of County Commissioners will hold public hearings to discuss and consider the adoption of the following ordinance with the following title:
AN ORDINANCE OF GULF COUNTY, FLORIDA; REGULATING SOBER LIVING HOMES, ADDICTION RECOVERY RESIDENCES, AND GROUP HOMES; PROVIDING DEFINITIONS; REQUIRING BUSINESS LICENSING AND REGISTRATION; ESTABLISHING LOCATION, SPACING, OPERATIONAL, AND SAFETY REQUIRMENTS; PROVIDIG FOR COMPLIANCE WITH STATE AND FEDERAL LAW; PROVIDING FOR ENFORCEMENT; PROVIDING FOR PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION; PROVIDING FOR REPEALER, SEVERABILITY, MODIFICATIONS THAT MAY ARISE FROM CONSIDERATION AT PUBLIC HEARING; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

Public reading, introduction and public hearings will be held during the Gulf County Board of County Commissioner's Regular Meetings on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 and Tuesday, May 26, 2026 both at 9:00 a.m. (Eastern) to be held in the Donald H. Butler Commissioner Chamber and meeting room in the Robert M. Moore Administration Building, Gulf County Courthouse Complex, Port St. Joe, Florida. These meeting times and dates have been advertised, noticed and posted in accordance with Gulf County policy and Florida Statute.
All interested persons may appear and be heard with respect to the proposed Ordinance. If a person decides to appeal any decisions made by the Gulf County Commission with respect to any matter considered at this hearing, he/she will need a record of the proceedings and that for such purpose he/she may need to ensure a verbatim record of the proceedings made and which would include any evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.
A copy of the proposed ordinance is available for inspection on weekdays between the hours of 9:00 a.m. est., and 5:00 p.m. est. at the Office of the Clerk of Court, Gulf County Courthouse, 1000 C.G. Costin, Sr., Blvd., Port St. Joe, Florida, 32456.
