PUBLIC NOTICE Department of Environmental Protection Wastewater Management Program Mail Station # 3545 2600 Blair Stone Road Tallahassee, Florida 32399-2400 (850) 245-8695 NOTICE OF REQUEST FOR APPROVALOF A PRETREATMENT PROGRAM MODIFICATION In accordance with the provisions of Chapter 62-625, Florida Administrative Code (F.A.C.), Emerald Coast Utility Authority (ECUA) has developed and submitted for approval by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), a pretreatment program modification for its wastewater facility (WWF), consisting of revisions to the ECUA Sewer Use Ordinance (SUO). DEP has made a preliminary determination that this pretreatment program modification meets the requirements of Rule 62-625.540, F.A.C. The requirements found in those rules are designed to ensure the pretreatment program will: (a) prevent the introduction of pollutants into WWFs which will interfere with their operation, including the use or disposal of residuals; (b) prevent the introduction of pollutants into WWFs which will pass through the treatment works or be otherwise incompatible; and (c) improve opportunities to recycle and reclaim municipal and industrial wastewaters and residuals. ECUAs proposed pretreatment program approval submission is available for public inspection online at: https://depedms.dep.state.fl.us: 443/Oculus/servlet/shell?command=getEntity&[guid=38.1468383 .1]&[profile=Permitting_Authorization] Interested persons are encouraged to submit written comments on the submission. All written comments submitted in a timely manner will be considered by DEP in the decision on whether or not to approve the submission. In accordance with paragraph 62- 625.510(2)(c), F.A.C., this public notice comment period will end thirty (30) days from the date of publication. Any interested person may request a public hearing concerning this proposed pretreatment program. Such a public hearing is for informational purposes only. The request for public hearing must be filed with the Department within 30 days of the publication of this notice. Persons requesting a public hearing must state their interest in the matter and state reasons why such a hearing is warranted. A public hearing will be held if there is significant public interest.
