CITY OF PUNTA GORDA NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING TO CHANGE LAND DEVELOPMENT REGULATIONS YOU ARE HEREBY notified in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 166, Florida Statutes, that the City of Punta Gorda Planning Commission will hold a Public Hearing on Monday, February 23, 2026, at 2:00 p.m., and the City Council of the City of Punta Gorda, Florida will hold a Public Hearing on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. or as soon thereafter as may be heard, to consider the following ordinance: ZA-03-2026 - An Ordinance of the City of Punta Gorda, Florida, amending Chapter 26, Punta Gorda Code, the City of Punta Gorda Land Development Regulations, to allow for minor expansion of the General Single-Family and General Multi-Family zoning districts; amending Article 3, Regulating Districts, Section 3.4, GS, General Single-Family Residential District, and Section 3.5, GM, General Multi-Family Residential District; providing for findings; providing for conflict; providing for severability; and providing an effective date. Said hearings will be held in the Laishley Community Room at 120 Laishley Court, Unit 111, Punta Gorda, FL 33950. All interested persons and affected units of general-purpose government shall be given an opportunity to appear at the hearing and present oral or written comments on the petition. Any persons or affected unit of general-purpose local government, who wish to appeal any decision made by the City Council with respect to any matter considered at this public hearing will need a record of the proceedings. For that purpose, the person or unit of general-purpose local government may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made that includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based. In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and Florida Statutes, Section 286.26, the location of this public hearing is accessible to persons with disabilities. If you are a person with disability who needs any accommodation in order to participate in this proceeding, you are entitled, at no cost to you, to the provision of certain assistance.
