The School Boards legal authority to adopt, modify and replace rules is pursuant to Section 1001.41, F.S. The School Board is required to change policies as often as necessary so policies are legally correct under current law, as well as to make the districts policies informative to staff and constituents. Any person who is affected by a proposed policy, policy revision, or the repeal of a policy, may within twenty-one (21) days following notice of the proposal to adopt, revise or repeal such policy, file a written request with the Board for a hearing on the proposed action. The ways in which citizens may offer their input on these items are as follows: 1) Submit input via email to the School Board Members; or 2) Attend the School Board meeting to offer input in person during the Public Hearing Pursuant to the provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act, any individual requiring special accommodations for this meeting may contact the Department of Human Resources at (941) 255-0808 prior to the date of scheduled meeting.
