PUBLIC NOTICE The USDA Forest Service Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie is making available 1 parcel (acreage is an estimate); Parcel 10 is 158 acres for corn, soybean and winter wheat crop production using the no-till method. Interested bidders may call Len Kring at (815) 423-2148 for more information. A detailed prospectus will be posted on-line at https://www.fs.usda.gov/main/midewin/passes-permits. Lump sum sealed bids with a $1,000.00 bid deposit (cashier's check or money order) for each bid must be received at the Midewin National Tallgrass Prairie Headquarters, 30239 South State Route 53, Wilmington, IL 60481 prior to bid opening on March 25, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. The successful bidder will be issued a Special Use Permit for one growing season.
