LEGAL NOTICE Plaintiff New Jersey Property-Liability Insurance Guaranty Association has filed a lawsuit in Superior Court of the State of New Jersey, Law Division, Passaic County against defendant, Alphonse Santana, bearing docket number PAS-L-1490-25. On June 8, 2023, Amarilis Gutierrez was a passenger in a motor vehicle owned and operated by defendant Alphonse Santana when it was involved in an accident. At the time of the accident, the vehicle was uninsured. As a result of injuries sustained by Amarilis Gutierrez, NJPLIGA paid personal injury protection (“PIP”) benefits, including medical expense benefits to medical providers of care to Amarilis Gutierrez. Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 39:6-86.6, NJPLIGA is entitled to recover the amount of all PIP benefits it paid from the owner or operator of any vehicle who failed to have automobile insurance coverage mandated by statute in place. NJPLIGA seeks to recover $20,802-33. On February 27, 2026, the Honorable Darren J. Del Sardo, P.J.Cv., executed an Order permitting substituted service on defendant by publication of this statement in the Bergen Record. Defendant has 35 days from the date that this notice appears in the Bergen Record to serve an Answer or respond to the allegations contained in the Complaint. Defendant's Answer must be filed in Court with a copy sent to Burke & Potenza, P.A., at 600 Parsippany Road, Suite 106, Parsippany, New Jersey 07054 or default will be entered for the relief sought in the Complaint.
