CITY OF VINELAND, N.J. ORDINANCE NO. 2026-9 ORDINANCE NO. 2026-9, ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE 86-46, AS AMENDED, CHAPTER 687, ARTICLE XV, SECTION 687-110 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF VINELAND ENTITLED REMOTE METERS. This Ordinance shall amend Ordinance No. 86-46 to allow the Vineland Water Utility the right to place meters or other instruments on the premises of a customer for measuring water consumption. The Director of the Municipal Utilities determined that installing Automated Metering Infrastructure (AMI) meters that enable two-way communication between utilities and customers will benefit the City of Vineland and its customers to better monitor water consumption, detect water pressure loss and improve operational efficiency thereby enhancing the reliability and sustainability of water distribution. The above ordinance was introduced and passed on its first reading at a meeting of the Council of the City of Vineland conducted on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 and is scheduled for a second reading, public hearing, and adoption at a meeting of said Council scheduled for Tuesday, February 24 2026, at 5:30 p.m., prevailing time, in City Council Chambers, City Hall, Seventh & Wood Streets, Vineland, NJ.
