NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON ADOPTION OF THE HACKETTSTOWN
AMENDED FOURTH ROUND
HOUSING ELEMENT AND FAIR SHARE PLAN
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, as required by law, that on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at 7:00 PM, in the Council Chambers of the Hackettstown Municipal Building; located at 215 West Stiger Street, Hackettstown, NJ 07840, the Hackettstown Land Use Board (the "Board") will hold a Public Hearing (the "Hearing") pursuant to the New Jersey Municipal Land Use Law, N.J.S.A. 40:55D-1, et seq., to consider the "Amended Fourth Round Housing Element and Fair Share Plan" prepared by Paul Sterbenz, P.P. and Daniel Bloch, P.P. dated February 20, 2025.
The proposed Amended Fourth Round Housing Element and Fair Share Plan was prepared in accordance with N.J.S.A. 40:55D-28(b)(3) of the MLUL and the mandatory requirements of a Housing Element under the New Jersey Fair Housing Act (N.J.S.A. 52:27D-310), relevant regulations of the New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency, and Directive #14-24 of the Administrative Office of the Courts, dated December 13, 2024. The Fourth Round Housing Element and Fair Share Plan also delineates the actions taken, and to be taken, by the Town to create a "realistic opportunity" to satisfy its "fair share" of the regional need for affordable housing.
At the Hearing, opportunity will be given to all interested parties to be heard, and at which time the Board may take action. The documents related to this matter are available for public inspection in the offices of the Land Use Board Secretary and Town Clerk, 215 W Stiger St, Hackettstown, NJ 07840, during regular business Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, except holidays or by emailing planning@hackettstown.net.
