TOWNSHIP OF HOWELL PLANNING BOARD PUBLIC NOTICE TOWNSHIP OF HOWELL AMENDED HOUSING ELEMENT AND FAIR SHARE PLAN ADOPTION BY TOWNSHIP OF HOWELL PLANNING BOARD TAKE NOTICE that on March 9, 2026 at 6:00 p.m., a public hearing will be held before the Township of Howell Planning Board, Township Municipal Building, 4567 Route 9 North, 2nd Floor, Howell, New Jersey, to review and consider the adoption of the Amended Housing Element and Fair Share Plan Element of the Township's Master Plan. The Amended Housing Element and Fair Share Plan has been prepared in response to the New Jersey Legislature's adoption of amendments to the Fair Housing Act, P.L. 2024, c.2, N.J.S.A. 52:27D-301 et. seq., and the subsequent Program Decision Recommendation entered by the Court In the Matter of the Township of Howell, Superior Court of New Jersey, Law Division-Monmouth County, Docket No MON-L-291-25 which establishes the Township's Fourth Round affordable housing obligation for the time period 2025-2035 at 304 affordable housing units and includes the implementation mechanisms to enable the Township to satisfy its constitutional obligation to provide for its fair share of affordable housing for low and moderate-income households within the housing region. Any interested party may appear at this hearing of the Planning Board to provide public comment and participate therein in accordance with the rules of the Planning Board.
