VILLAGE OF GROTON LEGAL NOTICE NOTICE OF GROTON PUBLIC LIBRARY ANNUAL MEETING AND BUDGET VOTE Notice is hereby given that the Groton Public Library Annual Meeting of the inhabitants of the Groton Central School District, qualified to vote at school elections in said District, will be held at the Public Library, 112 East Cortland Street, Groton, New York on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. for the transaction of such business as is authorized by Education Law. And notice is also given that the voting on the Public Library budget and the election of five Public Library Trustees will be held following the meeting. Voting will be provided by paper ballot, as provided by Education Law. And notice is also given that a copy of the statement of the amount of money which will be required for the ensuing year, Public Library purposes, may be obtained by any taxpayer in the District during the seven days immediately preceding the Annual Meeting, at the Groton Public Library, 112 East Cortland Street, Groton, New York during the regular library hours, on and after April 20, 2026. And notice is also given that petitions nominating candidates for the office of Board of Library Trustee must be filed with the Clerk of the Groton Central School District not later than March 27, 2026, 3:30 p.m. The following vacancies are to be filled on the Board of Groton Public Library Trustees: three five-year terms; two one-year terms. Each candidate must present a petition, directed to the Clerk of the District, which must be signed by at least twenty-five qualified voters of the District, and must state the residence of the voter, as well as the date signed.
