EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 2 OF 2026 PURSUANT TO NEW YORK STATE EXECUTIVE LAW §24 February 24, 2026 WHEREAS, the Town of Montgomery is currently operating under a weather-related State of Emergency by virtue of the Emergency Declaration issued by the undersigned on February 21, 2026, which State of Emergency was to remain in effect from 10:00 a.m. on February 22, 2026 until 5:00 p.m. on February 24, 2026; and WHEREAS, conditions have improved to the point where the Emergency Declaration may be rescinded under the conditions set forth herein, NOW, THEREFORE, I, L. Stephen Brescia, Supervisor of the Town of Montgomery, County of Orange, State of New York, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the Laws of the State of New York, hereby issue an Executive Order as follows: 1. The Declaration of Emergency dated February 21, 2026 is hereby rescinded, effective as of 8:00 a.m. on February 24, 2026. 2. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the prohibition relating to parking on all Town Streets will remain in effect until further notice. 3. Montgomery Town Hall and all municipal buildings will resume normal hours of operation on February 24, 2026. As the Chief Executive of the Town of Montgomery, I, hereby exercise the authority vested to me under Section 24 of the New York State Executive Law, to preserve the public safety and hereby render all required and available assistance vital to the security, well-being, and health of the citizens of the Town of Montgomery. Pursuant to New York Executive Law §24, this Order shall be published as soon as practicable in a newspaper of general circulation in the area and transmitted to the radio and television media for publication and broadcast.
