PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that a petition dated November 3, 2025, having been presented to Family Court of the State of New York, Niagara County, alleging that the above-named child, in the care of the Niagara County Department of Social Services (NCDSS), should be committed to the guardianship and custody of 'NCDSS', a copy of said petition having been filed with the Court, and a summons has been issued in the name of the People of the State of New York for your appearance in this proceeding.

to show cause why the Court should not enter an order committing the guardianship and custody of the child to the petitioning Niagara County Department of Social Services as provided by law.

PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE in the event of your default, the Court may hear and determine the petition as provided by law. Your failure to appear shall constitute a denial of your interest in said child, said denial may result, WITHOUT FURTHER NOTICE, in the transfer or commitment of the said child’s care, custody or guardianship or in the said child’s adoption, in the above-named proceeding or in any subsequent proceeding in which such care, custody or guardianship or adoption may be the issue.

PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that, upon your failure to appear, your parental rights in and to the said child may be terminated.

PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that you have the right to be represented by a lawyer and, if the Court finds that you are unable to pay for a lawyer, you have the right to have a lawyer assigned by the Court.

PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE that by Order of this Court dated September 9, 2025, Laura A. Miskell, Esq. with offices at 280 East Ave; Lockport, NY 14094 was appointed Attorney for the Child for the above-named child.
