TOWN OF NEW WINDSOR NOTICE OF HEARING ON PROPOSED LOCAL LAW NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING TOWN OF NEW WINDSOR PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Town Board of the TOWN OF NEW WINDSOR will hold a public hearing on the 4 th day of March, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. in Town Hall, 555 Union Avenue, New Windsor, New York, for the purpose of hearing public comments related to a proposed Local Law to add Article VI, entitled “Hotel/Motel Room Occupancy Tax” to Chapter 263 of the Town Code of the Town of New Windsor for the purpose of imposing a local tax of five percent (5%) on the rent of every room in a hotel, motel or property used to provide for overnight lodging, including, but not limited to those commonly known as bed-and-breakfast facilities, Airbnb’s and tourist facilities. This law is further intended to provide rules, regulations and guidance concerning the manner by which such properties shall register and document compliance; and the means and methods by which such taxes shall be imposed, paid, collected and made available for deposit in the Town’s general fund, where it may then be used to support and enhance the Town’s financial stability and Town services as needed. A copy of the proposed Local Law can be found on the homepage of the Town’s website at: http://newwindsor-ny.gov/ , and may be reviewed in the Town Clerk’s Office during regular working hours, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The location of the hearing is accessible to persons with disabilities. If special accommodations are needed for persons with disabilities, those with hearing impairments, or those in need of translation from English, those individuals should contact Patricia A. Clarino, Town Clerk, at (845) 563-4611 or pclarino@newwindsor-ny.gov at least one week in advance of the hearing date to allow for necessary arrangements.
