Village of Fort Edward, NY – NYS CDBG Program – Second Public Hearing

The Village of Fort Edward Board of Trustees will hold a Public Hearing on Monday, March 2, 2026 at 6:45 PM at the Town and Village Hall, 118 Broadway, Fort Edward, NY 12828 in the rear meeting room on the first floor (side entrance from the parking lot). The Hearing is for the purpose of recording public comments on the Village’s community development and infrastructure needs, and specifically discussing the completion of infrastructure improvements made in the northeastern part of the Village using a prior 2023 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding award #410PW134-23 for $1,000,000. Comments related to the effectiveness of administration of the 2023 CDBG Award will be received at this time. This project involved the replacement of public water lines, shut-off valves, fire hydrants, and related roadway and sidewalk site restoration work on Cooper, Prospect, and Grove Streets off Burgoyne Avenue. This project did not result in displacement of any residents.

The CDBG Program is administered by the New York State Office of Community Renewal (OCR), which makes grant funding available to eligible local governments for housing, economic development, municipal infrastructure, public facilities, and other project planning activities, with the principal purpose of benefiting low-and moderate-income persons.

The Public Hearing will provide information about the NYS CDBG Program and will allow for citizen participation regarding the completion of the Northeast Quadrant Safe Water Project involving water lines and related infrastructure on Cooper, Prospect, and Grove Streets. The Hearing is being conducted pursuant to Section 570.486, Subpart I of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) and in compliance with the requirements of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, as amended. The location of the Hearing is accessible to persons with disabilities. If special accommodations are needed for persons with disabilities, those with hearing impairments, or those in need of language translation services from English, or any other special needs, those individuals should contact the Village Clerk’s Office at (518) 747-4023 at least three days in advance of the Hearing date to allow for necessary arrangements.
