LIVINGSTON COUNTY LEGAL NOTICE NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING VILLAGE OF MOUNT MORRIS NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held by the Village Board of the Village of Mount Morris at the Village Hall located at 117 Main Street, Mount Morris, New York, on the 24 day of March , 2026 commencing at 6:30 p.m . to give citizens the opportunity to consider a proposed local law that will allow the Village Board to adopt a budget for the 2026 – 2027 fiscal year that requires a real property tax levy in excess of the limit specified in General Municipal Law Section 3-C. Section 3-C of General Municipal Law sets a “Property Tax Cap” on the amount that a local government’s property tax levy can increase each year. Said cap is 2% or the rate of inflation, whichever is less, with some exceptions. Local communities have the ability to override this cap with the adoption of a local law. ALL PERSONS INTERESTED IN THE SUBJECT MATTER OF THIS HEARING WILL BE ENTITLED TO BE HEARD AT THE TIME AND PLACE THEREOF Copy of the proposed local law is also available for review at the Village Clerk’s Office during regular office hours.
