SUFFOLK COUNTY NOTICE OF ADOPTION OF LOCAL LAW that the Town Board of the Town of Riverhead adopted a local law to amend Chapter 231 of the Riverhead Town Code Titled “Fire Prevention”, Article XXVII “Tenancy Permits” at its regular meeting held on April 7, 2026. The intent of the proposed amendment is to clarify when Fire Marshal review is required for a change in tenancy or use, ensuring buildings are evaluated for fire and life-safety impacts prior to occupancy.
