EAST BLOOMFIELD CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT NOTICE OF ANNUAL SCHOOL DISTRICT PUBLIC HEARING, BUDGET VOTE AND BOARD ELECTION NOTICE IS GIVEN that the public hearing for the purpose of discussing the expenditure of funds and the budgeting thereof for the East Bloomfield Central School District (the "District") for the fiscal year July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027, will be held on May 6, 2026, at 6:00 PM at the Middle/High School's Large Group Instruction Classroom, room 105 located at 1 Oakmount Ave., Bloomfield, NY. AND NOTICE IS GIVEN that the election of one (1) member of the Board of Education of the District and the vote upon the appropriation of the necessary funds to meet the estimated expenditures of the District during the ensuing school year and authorizing the levy of taxes will be conducted at the Middle/High School's Large Group Instructions Classroom, room 105 at 1 Oakmount Ave., Bloomfield, NY, from 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, May 19, 2026. AND NOTICE IS GIVEN that voting upon the propositions hereinafter set forth shall also take place at said meeting: BUS PURCHASE PROPOSITION Shall the following resolution be adopted? RESOLVED, that the Board of Education of the Bloomfield Central School District is hereby authorized to withdraw from the "Capital Reserve-Bus Purchase" a sum of money not to exceed Five Hundred Twenty-Four Thousand Dollars ($524,000), to be used for the purchase of two (2) sixty-five passenger diesel buses, one (1) 30 passenger gasoline bus, for student transportation, and communications equipment used in the operation of such vehicles. LIBRARY TAX PROPOSITION Shall the Board of Education of the East Bloomfield Central School District levy and collect a tax, pursuant to Education Law § 259, in the sum of $333,642 (which is an increase of $7,065 from the tax levy currently in effect for the Bloomfield Public Library) for the continuing support and maintenance of the free library services offered to District residents by the Bloomfield Public Library? NOTICE IS GIVEN that at the May 19, 2026, election, voters shall elect three (3) members of the Bloomfield Public Library Board of Trustees for a three-year term, commencing July 1, 2026 NOTICE IS GIVEN that a copy of the statement of the amount of money which will be required for the ensuing year for school purposes, exclusive of public moneys, and a copy of the report of the amount of the total assessed value of the final assessment roll(s) used in the budgetary process that is exempt from taxation may be obtained by any resident in the district during the fourteen (14) days immediately preceding the annual meeting, and on the date of the election, except Saturday, Sunday or holidays at the District Office, Bloomfield Middle/High School, and Bloomfield Elementary School between the hours of 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM. NOTICE IS GIVEN that the petitions nominating candidates for one vacancy on the Board of Education for a term of five (5) years each must be filed with the District Clerk between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM, not later than April 20, 2026, at the District Office. Each petition must be signed by at least twenty-five (25) qualified voters of the District and must state the residence of the candidate. AND NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN that applications for absentee ballots for the election may be obtained at the District Clerk's office in the District Office. Such applications must be received by the District Clerk at least seven days before the election if the ballot is to be mailed to the voter, or the day before the election if the ballot is to be delivered personally to the voter. A list of all persons to whom absentee, early, and military ballots shall have been issued will be available for public inspection during regular office hours at the District Clerk's Office during each of the five days prior to the election except Sundays and will be posted at the polling place during the election. AND NOTICE IS ALSO GIVEN that applications for early voting ballots for the election may be obtained from the District Clerk's office. Applications must be received by the District Clerk at least seven days before the election if the ballot is to be mailed to the voter, or the day before the election if the ballot is to be delivered personally to the voter. In a request for a military ballot application or ballot, the military voter may indicate their preference for receiving the application or ballot by mail, facsimile transmission, or email.
