LIVINGSTON COUNTY LEGAL NOTICE Legal Notice TO THE QUALIFIED VOTERS OF THE GENESEO CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT, Livingston County, New York NOTICE IS GIVEN that a public hearing of the qualified voters of the Geneseo Central School District will be held in the Large Cafeteria at 4050 Avon Road, Geneseo, NY 14454 on May 12, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. for the presentation of the budget. NOTICE IS GIVEN that the annual meeting (vote) of the qualified voters of the Geneseo Central School District, Livingston County, New York, will be held in the auditorium lobby at 4050 Avon Road, Geneseo, NY 14454 in said District on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m., at which time the polls will be opened to vote upon the following propositions: > 1. To elect three (3) members of the Board for a 3-year term commencing July 1, 2026, to succeed Bobbie Steinhauer, Matthew Mallaber, and Dawn Ellis whose terms expire June 30, 2026. 2. Proposition #1 (Budget): To adopt the annual budget of the School District for the fiscal year 2026-27 and to authorize the requisite portion thereof to be raised by taxation on the taxable property of the District. 3. Proposition #2 (Transportation): Shall the Board of Education of the Geneseo Central School District be authorized to purchase and finance replacement student transportation vehicles, including, for each, necessary furnishings, fixtures and equipment and all other costs incidental thereto. NOTICE IS GIVEN that a copy of the statement of the amount of money which will be required to fund the School District's budget for the 2026-2027 school year, exclusive of public monies, and the tax exemption report may be obtained by any District resident at any district school buildings during the fourteen (14) days immediately preceding the election between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. except Saturday, Sunday, and holidays, and on the date of election. Copies of the statement may also be obtained at the Annual Meeting. NOTICE IS GIVEN that petitions nominating candidates for the office of Board of Education member must be filed with the District Clerk at her office in the Geneseo Central School District Office, no later than Monday, April 20, 2026, between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Each petition shall be directed to the District Clerk and shall be signed by at least twenty-five (25) voters of the District and must state the name and residence of each signer. NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that pursuant to Section 2018-f of the Education Law, applications for early mail ballots may be obtained at the Office of the District Clerk of the School District, during all days in which the School District is in session. Completed applications must be received by the District Clerk by May 12, 2026, if the early mail ballot is to be mailed to the voter. If the early mail ballot is to be delivered personally to the voter at the Office of the District Clerk the completed application must be received by the District Clerk no later than May 18, 2026. No early mail voter's ballot will be canvassed unless it has been received in the Office of the District Clerk of the School District no later than 5:00 p.m. on May 19, 2026. A list of all persons to whom early ballots have been issued will be available in the Office of the District Clerk's office during office hours on and after May 14, 2026 until May 18, 2026, except on Sunday, May 17, 2026, and the list will also be posted at the polling place at the Annual Meeting. A challenge to an early voting ballot may not be made on the basis that the voter should have applied for an absentee ballot. AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that applications for absentee ballots for voting on the above-referenced propositions may be applied for at the District Clerk's office, 4050 Avon Road, Geneseo, NY 14454. Any such application must be received by the District Clerk at least seven (7) days before the date of the vote if the ballot is to be mailed to the voter, or the day before such vote if the ballot is to be picked up personally by the voter. A list of all persons to whom absentee and military ballots shall have been issued will be available for public inspection during regular business hours in the office of the District Clerk during each of the five days through the date of the election, except Sundays. Absentee ballots must be received in the office of the District Clerk not later than 5:00 p.m. on May 19, 2026. NOTICE IS GIVEN that military voters who are qualified voters of the School District may apply for a military ballot by requesting an application from the District Clerk at 585-243-3450 or dianecannon@geneseocsd.org. For a military voter to be issued a military ballot, the District Clerk must have received a valid ballot application no later than 5:00 p.m. on April 23, 2026. In a request for a military ballot application or ballot, the military voter may indicate their preference for receiving the application or ballot by mail, facsimile transmission or email.
