COLUMBIA COUNTY PUBLIC NOTICE NOTICE OF PUBLIC INFORMATIONAL MEETING COLUMBIA COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS BUCKWHEAT ROAD BRIDGE REPLACEMENT OVER ROELIFF JANSEN KILL TOWNS OF CLERMONT AND LIVINGSTON, NY PROJECT IDENTIFICATION NO. (PIN) 8763.53 The Columbia County Department of Public Works has announced a public informational meeting will be held to discuss the proposed Bridge Replacement of Buckwheat Road over Roeliff Jansen Kill in the Towns of Clermont and Livingston. The meeting will be held at the Clermont Town Hall located at 1795 US-9, Germantown, NY, on May 4, 2026, at 5:30 P.M. The County, in cooperation with the County’s consulting engineer, Greenman-Pedersen Inc., the New York State Department of Transportation, the Federal Highway Administration, and the United States Army Corps of Engineers, is developing design alternatives for the replacement of the Buckwheat Road Bridge. The project proposes replacing the structurally deficient bridge with steel girders and a concrete bridge deck. The purpose of the meeting is to obtain comments on the proposed project from individuals, groups, officials, and local agencies. The County is specifically soliciting comments on the development of alternatives for the project and comments on the project’s social, economic, and environmental effects.
