ESSEX COUNTY LEGAL NOTICE NOTICE OF SPECIAL ELECTION OF TICONDEROGA JOINT TOWN / VILLAGE FIRE DISTRICT NOTICE is hereby given pursuant to the Town Law of the State of New York, that a Special Election of the Ticonderoga Joint Town / Village Fire District will take place on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 between the hours of 12:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. at the Ticonderoga Fire Department , 60 Montcalm Street, Town of Ticonderoga, County of Essex, New York for the purpose of voting upon the following proposition. All residents of the Ticonderoga Joint Town / Village Fire District , who are duly registered to vote with the Essex County Board of Elections at least thirty days prior to the special election, shall be entitled to vote at this election. PROPOSITION Shall the bond resolution adopted by the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Ticonderoga Joint Town / Village Fire District, Town of Ticonderoga, Essex County, New York, adopted March 16, 2026, authorizing the issuance of serial bonds of the District, in one or more series, in the principal amount of up to $12,982,000.00 to finance, at a market interest rate, the demolition of the existing Fire Station located at 60 Montcalm Street, Town of Ticonderoga, New York and the acquisition, construction and equipping of an approximately 12,900 square foot new class “a” fire station (having an approximately 12,900 square foot footprint) at the same location, including grading, site improvements and original furnishings, equipment, machinery and apparatus required for the purposes for which such new fire station is to be used and the acquisition, construction and equipping of a class “c” building for equipment storage during construction of the new fire station; stating the estimated maximum cost of said demolition, acquisition, construction and equipping together with certain costs preliminary and incidental thereto is $12,982,000.00, appropriating said amount therefor and authorizing the spending of from the District’s current operation funds at the discretion of the Board of Fire Commissioners a portion of the costs of the project not financed with bonds; determining that the period of probable usefulness and maximum maturity of the serial bonds is thirty (30) years with respect to the acquisition, construction and equipping of the new class “a” fire station; determining that the period of probable usefulness and maximum maturity of the serial bonds is fifteen (15) years with respect to the acquisition, construction and equipping of the new class “c” building; and determining that the period of probable usefulness and maximum maturity of the serial bonds is ten (10) years with respect to the demolition of the existing station; and that in no event shall the maturity of the bonds (including any notes issued in anticipation thereof) exceed the weighted average period of probable usefulness; delegating the power to the District Treasurer to authorize and sell bond anticipation notes (and renewals thereof) and to fix the details of and to sell serial bonds; containing an estoppel clause and providing for the publication of an estoppel notice, be approved?
