LEGAL NOTICENotice is hereby given that sealed bids will be received by the Geauga County Board of Commissioners, 12611 Ravenwood Drive, Suite 350, Chardon, Ohio 44024 for theGEAUGA COUNTY COURTHOUSE ANNEX ROOF UPGRADEduring the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, until 1:45 P.M. (local time) on Wednesday,                           April 1, 2026, at which time the bids will be opened and publicly read at 2:30 P.M. in the Commissioners' Chambers, Room B303.The Owner's estimate of probable cost of the work to be performed for the Project is $687,345.00.Each bid must be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check or an irrevocable letter of credit pursuant to Chapter 1305 of the Ohio Revised Code, in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the amount bid, or a bid bond meeting the requirements of R.C. 153.571 in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the bid amount, as required by R.C. 153.54, such check or bid guaranty to be made in favor of the Geauga County Board of Commissioners and shall be held as a guarantee that in the event the bid is accepted and a contract awarded to the Bidder, the contract will be duly executed and its performance properly secured. To be considered, bids must be made on the bid forms furnished by the Board of Commissioners in the Instructions to Bidders.The envelope containing the bid and other required documents should be sealed and clearly marked “BID-GEAUGA COUNTY COURTHOUSE ANNEX ROOF UPGRADE PROJECT”,       Attention: Clerk, Geauga County Board of Commissioner, 12611 Ravenwood Drive, Suite 350, Chardon, Ohio 44024.”Prevailing wage rates are applicable to the Project regardless of any contractual relationship which may be said to exist between the contractor or subcontractor and such individual.The successful bidder is also required to furnish a bond for the faithful performance of the Contract in a sum of not less than one hundred percent (100%) of the total bid price for the complete work, said bond shall meet the requirements of R.C 153.57 and be that of an approved surety company authorized to transact business in the State of Ohio.A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 19, 2026 at 214 East Park Street, Chardon, Ohio 44024. The purpose of this meeting is to ensure all potential bidders have the same information and to provide a clear understanding of the scope of work.The bid solicitation package containing the plans and specifications may be obtained at the Office of the Geauga County Maintenance Department, 13211 Aquilla Road, Chardon, Ohio 44024, Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  An electronic set of plans and specifications may also be requested via email to ctkach@geauga.oh.gov, or by calling Mr. Charles Tkach at (440) 279-2157.
