Public Notice Stoneco, Inc., P.O. Box 3100, Findlay, Ohio 45840 has submitted a significant Industrial Mineral Surface Mining Permit Amendment Application # A-0296-5 to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Division of Mineral Resources Management. This is a significant proposed amendment, to increase the area of the surface mine by 35.5 acres on Permit # IM-0296. The permit is located in Ottawa County in Sections 9 & 16, Allen Township. The proposed amendment area is located on the Genoa 7 ½ minute USGS Quadrangle maps, adjacent to the Northern Corporation line of Clay Center, Ohio. This is also notice of proposing "a significant modification, #IMM-0296-7, to the mining plan of Permit # IM-0296 which will include both the horizontal and vertical expansion of the permit which will result in an increase to the geographical area to which the water replacement provisions of rule 1501:14-5-03 of the Ohio Administrative Code will apply" OAC 1501:14-1-01 (YY)(3) Significant" means the addition of any of the following activities when those activities are not currently approved in the permit plan: Vertical or horizontal expansion of a permit area that would result in an increase to the geographical area to which the water replacement provisions of rule 1501:14-5-03 of the Administrative Code would apply The application is on file at the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Division of Mineral Resources Management Regional Office located at: 952 Lima Avenue, Findlay, Ohio 45840.
