Permit Renewal Public Notice Pursuant to the Surface Mining Conservation and Reclamation Act and Clean Streams Law, notice is hereby given that Junior Coal Contracting, Inc., 2330 Six Mile Road, Philipsburg, PA 16866 has made application to the Department of Environmental Protection for renewing its existing surface coal mine permit #14940101and the related NPDES permit PA0219932. The permit was issued on June 17, 1996 and will expire on June 17, 2026. This renewal does not contain any revisions to the existing operation. The receiving streams for the permit area are unnamed tributaries to Moshannon Creek to Susquehanna River. The operation is located in Rush Township, Centre County and is known as the Beaver Operation. The permit contains 522 acres and is situated south of SR 3036 (Phoenix Road) and north of T-317 (Dale Road), as shown on the Sandy Ridge, PA U.S.G.S. 7.5 minute topographic map. A copy of the application is available for inspection at the Department of Environmental Protection, 186 Enterprise Drive, Philipsburg, PA 16866.
