Control Operations Begin The Yakima County mosquito control district will begin operations for the control of adult mosquitoes and mosquito larvae during the week of March 30th, 2026. The spray season will end by October 31st. The areas sprayed will be in mosquito district #1. Permethrin (EPA 8329-35), Etofenprox (2724-807), Sumithrin (1021-1795-8329), Prallethrin (1021-1795) and Deltamethrin (432-1534) will be used to control adult mosquitoes (adulticide/fogging) during late evening or early morning hours. Biological larvicides including Bti (73049-501), insect growth regulators (2724-421), Spinosad(8329-80) and larviciding oil (70589-1) will be used for the control of mosquito larvae. Please notify the district of known locations of beehives or register your hives with the Washington State Department of Agriculture (RCW 15.60).
