SUPERIOR COURT OF WASHINGTON FOR YAKIMA COUNTY (JUVENILE DIVISION) In Re the Adoptive Child of: NO. 26-5-00035-39 ERICA C. GUTIERREZ, SUMMONS/NOTICE a person under the age of eighteen. OF PETITION AND HEARING TO TERMINATE PARENT/CHILD RELATIONSHIP TO: John Doe, Alleged Father; and TO: Any other fathers claiming a paternal interest. YOU ARE HEREBY NOTIFIED that there has been filed in this Court a Petition praying that your parent and child relationship with the below-described unborn infant Child to be terminated. Said Child was conceived by the Natural Mother, Erica C. Gutierrez, and John Doe, an alleged father, and any other alleged father claiming a paternal interest to said Child, on or about June 2025 in Yakima, Yakima County, Washington. Said Child is expected to be born on or about March 5, 2026, in Yakima, Washington. YOU ARE ALSO NOTIFIED that you have a right to file a claim of paternity (if applicable) under RCW Chapter 26.26A, or to file a direct responsive pleading to the Petition in this action. You may be entitled to certain presumptions under RCW 26.26A.115, if applicable; to blood tests; to a trial on the issues including paternity, custody and payment of child support; to present evidence and rebut evidence against you. You have the right to be represented by an attorney. If you can establish to the above Court that you are indigent, the Court will appoint an attorney for you, if you request the Court to do so. If you are under the age of 18, a Guardian ad Litem will be appointed for you if you respond to this Notice. YOU ARE ALSO NOTIFIED that failure to respond to the Petition to terminate your parent/child relationship, or to file a claim of paternity under RCW Chapter 26.26A, within thirty (30) days after the first date of publication of this Summons/Notice is grounds for a default judgment, and will result in, termination of your parent/child relationship with the above-described Child. One method of filing your response and serving it is to send by certified mail to the Court and attorney addressed below. If you serve a notice of appearance on the undersigned, you are entitled to notice before a default judgment may be entered. YOU ARE HEREBY SUMMONED and notified that a hearing will be held on Friday, April 3, 2026, at the hour of 3:00 p.m. at the courtroom of the Juvenile Court Division of the Yakima County Superior Court, 1728 Jerome Avenue, Yakima Washington 98902, when and where you may appear and show cause why the parent/child relationship of alleged father to said Child should not be terminated. If you do not appear at the hearing, the court may enter in your absence a default order and an order permanently terminating your parental rights.
