ADVERTISEMENT FOR BID #23-26 Sealed proposals will be received by the Jefferson County Board of Education in the Bids and Contracts Department office, 2100 South 18th Street South, Birmingham, AL 35209, until 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 9, 2026 for Bid #23-26, Multiple Fencing Projects for the Jefferson County School System. The bid will be for three projects at three different school locations. Pre-bid and Site Visits will be required. Unit pricing will be used for future non-specified projects. Bids must be submitted on proposal forms furnished by the owner. Interested contractors can receive the "Invitation to Bid" including the necessary proposal forms, by contacting Tracie Busby, at 205-379-2215. Bids shall clearly be identified on the exterior of the envelope with the bidder's name, address, bid number, date and time of bid opening. A cashier's check or bid bond payable to the Jefferson County Board of Education in an amount not less than five (5) percent of the amount of the bid, but in no event more than $10,000, must accompany the bidder's proposal. Performance and Payment Bonds will be required after the award since the bid amount is expected to exceed $100,000. Evidence of insurance should be provided as required by the bid documents. The owner intends to award a contract for this work to a single qualified, experienced contractor. The owner will consider proposals only from firms, which can demonstrate their successful experience and ability to perform the work necessary for this project, as outlined in the Invitation to Bid. A mandatory pre-bid conference/site-visit is scheduled for Thursday, May 28, 2026 @ 9:00 a.m. beginning at Johnson Elementary, 8300 Kermit Johnson Road, Pinson, AL 35126. Immediately following, interested bidders will be required to visit Corner Middle School and Fultondale High.
