ARIZONA DEPARTMENT OF WATER RESOURCES
BEFORE THE DIRECTORIn the matter of renewal of Permit No. 59-225634.0000 for a Permit to Withdraw Groundwater for General Industrial Use located within the Upper Santa Cruz Sub-basin of the Tucson Active Management Area;
The Director gives notice that Les Shipley has filed the above referenced application for a Permit to Withdraw Groundwater for General Industrial Use pursuant to Arizona Revised Statutes, Title 45, Chapter 2, Article 7, § 45-515. It is the Applicant's intent to use groundwater under this application for propagation of low water use native plants for landscapers and resale to the public. The Applicant intends to use 2 existing wells located within Section 19 Township 16 South, Range 14 West, of the Gila Salt River Baseline and Meridian. A total of 150 acre-feet per annum has been requested for period of 20-years.

Objections to the issuance of the permit may be filed by persons that may be adversely affected by the project and must be filed, in writing, with the Docket Supervisor of the Arizona Department of Water Resources, Legal Division, 1110 West Washington Street, Suite 310, Phoenix, Arizona 85007-2952, within fifteen (15) days after the last day of publication of this notice.
For this application, the final date on which an objection may be filed is June 10th, 2026. Objections are limited to whether the application meets the criteria of Arizona Revised § 45-515. An objection shall state the name and mailing address of the objector, be signed by the objector, his agent or attorney and must clearly set forth the reasons why the permit should not be issued.
