PUBLIC NOTICETown of CliftonPublic Hearing Regarding Use of CDBG FundsTown of Clifton is expected to receive approximately $100,000 in FY2026 federal CDBG funds from the Arizona Department of Housing Regional Account (RA) and may consider future competitive applications for Colonias and State Special Project (SSP) CDBG funds. CDBG funds must be used to benefit low-income persons and areas, alleviate slum and blight or address urgent need. Based on citizen input as well as local and state planning objectives several potential projects have been selected to be forwarded to the State of Arizona with a request for funding. A public hearing will be held at a meeting beginning at 2:00 pm on Thursday, June 11, 2025 at the Town Hall Conference Room, 510 N. Coronado Blvd. Clifton, AZ 85533 to discuss the potential projects. It is expected that the Town Council will select the final project(s) at this hearing and adopt applicable resolutions. The potential CDBG projects suggested at the Initial Public Hearing on March 26, 2026 are named and described as follows:1. Clifton 4th Street Senior Center Food Bank emergency backup electric generator;2. Blight abatement/prevent squatting of vacant buildings;3. Elks Building rehabilitation;4. Windmill at Veteran's Park (Power station for electric lines to light sidewalks and trails; 5. Triangle beach park build;6. Low voltage street lighting for poorly-lit sidewalks;7. EV charging stations;8. Train Depot Building repair;9. ADA compliant improvements for governmental facilities (library, town hall, all public buildings);10. ADA-compliant sidewalk improvements;11. Police department building repair;12. Clifton animal shelter new or improvements;13. Fire station improvements;14. Road repair;15. Sewer FOG program;16. Arizona Copper Co. HQ building repair;17. Sewer line repairs;18. Cliff/mountain/wall repairs/stabilization;19. Wastewater treatment plant grinder pumps and pipe replacements;20. RV Park expansion near river;21. Owner-Occupied Housing Rehabilitation (OOHR);22. Parking lot construction covering Chase Creek and serving Chase Creek Street buildings;23. Library gazebos and electric sliding doors ADA improvements;24. Library siding and building repair;25. Library retaining wall stabilization/repair; and26.
