Invitation for Bids Wayne Brown Correctional Facility (WBCF)Second Level Safety Fence The Nevada County Purchasing Agent, on behalf of the Nevada County Facilities Department, is accepting Request for Qualifications until the hour of 5:00 p.m., May 15, 2026, for Wayne Brown Correctional Facility (WBCF) Second Level Safety FenceThe Nevada County Purchasing Agent, on behalf of the Nevada County Facilities Management Department, hereinafter collectively referred to as “County”, is requesting Statements of Qualification (SOQ) from all contractors qualified to furnish and install second level safety fencing at the Wayne Brown Correctional Facility (WBCF). Only applicants approved through this Request for Qualifications process will be allowed to submit bids for performing the work. The work required consists of the following:The second level walkways and stairs in the residential units have guardrails anchored in place made of steel 2” diameter tubing 36” height. Similar facilities have taken measures in securing these areas with ligature resistant screening in fences that are floor to ceiling in installation. Interested firms must hold a valid California General B license and C-23, C-51 or C-60 Welding Contractor licenses. Per Business and Professions Code (BPC) section 7057 and related provisions, contractors must be approved by the California State License Board (CSLB) and current active status with the Department of Industrial Regulations (DIR). In addition, the selected Contractor and their staff assigned to the project will be required undergo a background check to work in the secured facility. Questions regarding the work or the contract documents shall be submitted online on Public Purchase.Contractor will be required to possess a General B and C-23, C-51 or C-60 Welding Contractor licenses at the time the bid is submitted.
