NOTICE CALLING FOR PROPOSALSRFP# 2026-2027-02 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Val Verde Unified School District of Riverside County, California (“District”), is requesting proposals for the award of the contract(s) of Fresh Bread Products and Delivery Services (“Proposal”). Proposals must be submitted electronically through the Planet Bids – Val Verde USD Vendor Portal at: https://vendors.planetbids.com/portal/70300/portal-home. Proposal submissions must be posted up to, but no later than, 2:35 p.m. Pacific Standard Time (PST) on Thursday, May 14, 2026. All proposals must be submitted on forms furnished by the District. Any person, corporation, firm or other entity submitting a Proposal in response to this RFP is referred to herein as a “Proposer”. Jessica Noriega, Nutrition Service Procurement Coordinator shall act as the “District Representative” on this procurement. Any companies interested in submitting a proposal can request an RFP Packet by emailing the Nutrition Service Procurement Coordinator at jnoriega@valverde.edu, referencing RFP# 2026-2027-02 Fresh Bread Products and Delivery Services in the subject line, visiting the Val Verde Unified School District’s Bids Webpage at: https://www.valverde.edu/en-us/bids-rfps-rfqs-fc878171, or visiting the Val Verde USD Planet Bids Vendor Portal at: https://vendors.planetbids.com/portal/70300/portal-home. Any and all inquiries and comments regarding this Proposal must be communicated in writing, unless otherwise instructed by the District. The District may, in its sole discretion, disqualify any Proposer who engages in any prohibited communications. The Planet Bids Platform will time-and-date stamp all proposal packets that are received by the deadline of 2:35 p.m. Pacific Standard Time (PST) on Thursday, May 14, 2026. All submitted proposals must be marked “RFP# 2026-2027-02 Fresh Bread Products and Delivery Services” and addressed to: Val Verde Unified School District, Attention: Nutrition Service Department, 975 West Morgan Street, Perris, California 92571. It is the responsibility of each prospective Proposer to obtain the Proposal documents from PlanetBids for review and to verify the completeness of Proposals. Any Addenda will be posted on PlanetBids. It is the responsibility of each prospective Proposer to check PlanetBids on a daily basis through the close of Proposals for any applicable addenda or updates. The District does not assume any liability or responsibility based on any defective or incomplete copying, excerpting, scanning, faxing, downloading, or printing of the Proposal documents. The Contract Documents shall supersede any information posted or transmitted by the District unless memorialized in a formal addendum. The Nutrition Service Department is no longer accepting physical proposal packets, and is not responsible for Proposals sent via USPS, UPS, FedEx, GLS, or any other courier or delivery service provider. Any physical proposal packets received during the submission period, after the closing date, or any date extensions due to material changes, shall be returned to the Proposer unopened. Proposals cannot be submitted after the closing date. Proposals will be publicly opened through the Planet Bids Vendor Portal at 2:35 p.m. Pacific Standard Time (PST) on Thursday, May 14, 2026. The Board of Education for the Val Verde Unified School District reserves the right to accept or reject any and all proposals or parts thereof, to be the sole judge as to the merits and qualifications of all proposals, to waive any informality in a proposal, and not necessarily accept the lowest proposal of any offered if it is in the best interest of the District. Design, specifications, service, delivery, and vendor references will be considered in making selections. The District reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, to waive any discrepancy or technicality, and to award the contract for goods or services to other than the lowest proposal. The award of contract, if made by the District, will be to the qualified firm whose RFP best complies with all the requirements set forth in the proposal documents and whose proposal, in the opinion of the District while complying with all legal requirements, is in the best interest of the district, taking into consideration all aspects of the contractor's response, including the total net cost.
