INTRODUCTIONThe City of Pomona (the “City”) is soliciting bids from firms for for “ Street Preservation-Local Citywide (FY 24-25), Project No. 428-68593.”
2. DESCRIPTION OF WORKThe work to be done consists of furnishing all materials, equipment, tools, labor and incidentals as required in the specifications and contract documents, for the following project(s : for “ Street Preservation-Local Citywide (FY 24-25), Worktag No. 428-68593.” The Engineer's Estimate (for base bid and all additive alternates) is: $3,310,000.
COMPLETION OF WORK: The Work shall be commenced on the date stated in the City’s Full Notice to Proceed. All work to be done under this contract shall be completed within 7 0 consecutive working days for all base bid work and 30 consecutive working days for all additive alternate work (if awarded); and if only a portion of the additive alternate work is awarded the allowed additive alternate working days will be prorated based on the dollar amount), beginning on the date stipulated in the written “Notice to Proceed” issued by the City Engineer.ALSO CONTRACTOR SHALL:
·Construct all Base Bid work complete prior to any additive alternate work.·Construct cul-du sac streets in base bid prior to through-streets in base bid.
· Construct cul-du sac streets as follows. Alternate streets(every other cul de sac)work so that every other street(cul de sac) is constructed to accommodate the parking restrictions that will result from the work.
3. ABOUT THE CITYIncorporated in 1888, Pomona is one of the largest cities in Los Angeles County, encompassing 22.8 square miles, and approximately 30 miles east of the Los Angeles Civic Center. Pomona has a population of approximately 169,000. Pomona is a Charter City administered under the Council-City Manager form of local government. SCOPE OF WORKThe Contractor shall provide for the removal and replacement of asphalt concrete pavement, repair and replacement of concrete sidewalk as well as concrete curb and the installation of curb ramps as needed, as well as striping, signage, traffic control, and all other work per the contract documents and specifications.
The contractor shall provide all labor and material, administrative, supplies, materials, equipment and all other resources necessary to perform the specific work. All work from inception through closeout and all work is subject to prevailing wage requirements. 5. BID INSTRUCTIONSA.
