CITY OF LAWNDALE NOTICE OF A PUBLIC HEARING BEFORE THE LAWNDALE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWNDALE FOR: CONSIDERATION AND ADOPTION OF ORDINANCE NO. 121226 TO AMEND THE LAWNDALE MUNICIPAL CODE TO ADOPT BY REFERENCE THE 2025 LOS ANGELES COUNTY BUILDING CODES. Notice is hereby given that at 6:30 p.m. on March 2, 2026 , the Lawndale City Council will hold a public hearing in the City Council Chambers located at 14717 Burin Avenue, Lawndale, CA to review the following proposal: CASE 2601: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAWNDALE, CALIFORNIA ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE 2025 LOS ANGELES COUNTY BUILDING, ELECTRICAL, MECHANICAL, PLUMBING, RESIDENTIAL, AND EXISTING BUILDINGS CODES AND THE 2025 CALIFORNIA GREEN BUILDING STANDARDS CODE AND ADOPTING LOCAL AMENDMENTS TO THESE COUNTY CODES, THEREBY UPDATING AND AMENDING THE UNIFORM CODES PREVIOUSLY ADOPTED BY REFERENCE IN TITLE 15 OF THE CITY'S MUNICIPAL CODE Pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) the City of Lawndale has determined that the project is exempt under section 15061 (Common Sense), where it can be seen with certainty that there is no possibility that the activity may have a significant effect on the environment. The files for proposed amendments are available for review Monday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., in the Community Development Department offices located at 14717 Burin Avenue, Lawndale, California. Any grounds for opposing this project must be made at the time of the meeting or made in written correspondence. If you challenge this matter in court, you may be limited to raising only those issues that you or someone else raised during the meeting.
