City Council adopted an ordinance updating building codes for public safety.

NOTICE BY THE CITY OF LIVINGSTON CITY COUNCIL
OF ITS ADOPTION OF ORDINANCE
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on March 3, 2026, at 7:00 p.m., or as soon after the City Council of the City of Livingston adopted an Ordinance, entitled:

ORDINANCE  AMENDING TITLE 4, CHAPTER 1 OF THE CITY OF LIVINGSTON MUNICPAL CODE, REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 650 AND REPLACING LIVINGSTON MUNICIPAL CODE  TITLE 4, CHAPTER 1, "BUILDING ADMINISTRATION CODES" TO ADOPT THE 2025 CALIFORNIA WILDLAND-URBAN INTERFACE CODE, 2025 CALIFORNIA BUILDING CODE, 2025 MECHNICAL CODE, 2024 INTERNATIONAL PROPERTY MAINTENANCE CODE, 2025 CALIFORNIA MECHANICAL CODE, 2025 CALIFORNIA PLUMBING CODE, 2025 CALIFORNIA ELECTRICAL CODE, 2025 CALIFORNIA HISTORICAL BUILDING CODE, 2025 ENERGY CODE, 2025 CALIFORNIA GREEN BUILDING CODE, 2025 CALIFORNIA FIRE CODE, AND 2025 CALIFORNIA RESIDENTIAL BUILDING CODE AND ALL APPENDICES ATTACHED THERETO.

 
The purpose of this Ordinance is to establish minimum building requirements and standards for the protection of public safety, health, property and welfare of the City of Livingston.  This Ordinance will also replace Title 4, Chapter 1 of the City of Livingston Municipal Code, to adopt the 2025 California Building Codes, Part 1, 2025 California Administrative Code, Part 2, 2025 California Building Code, Vol. 1 and Vol. 2, Part 2.5, 2025 California Residential Code Part 3, 2025 California Electrical Code, Part 4, 2025 California Mechanical Code, Part 5, 2025 California Plumbing Code, Part 6, 2025 California Energy Code, Part 7, Vacant, formerly California Safety Construction Code, Part 8, 2025 California Historical Building Code Part 9, 2025 California Fire Code, Part 10, 2025 California Existing Building Code Part 11, 2025 California Green Building Standards Code, Part 12, 2025 California Referenced Standards Code and all appendices attached thereto.

The proposed ordinance shall become effective on April 3, 2026.
