NOTICE THAT ONLY ONE PERSON HAS BEEN NOMINATED FOR EACH OF THE OFFICES OF MAYOR, CITY COUNCILMEMBER FOR DISTRICT 2, AND CITY COUNCILMEMBER FOR DISTRICT 4 AT THE JUNE 2, 2026, GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION FOR THE CITY OF SAN DIMAS NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that pursuant to Section 10229 of the Elections Code of the State of California relating to the General Municipal Election in the City of San Dimas to be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2026: As of the close of the nomination period on March 6, 2026, only one person has been nominated for the office of Mayor, one person for Councilmember, District 2, and one person for Councilmember, District 4. The nominated people are Emmett G. Badar for Mayor, Eric Nakano for Councilmember, District 2, and Ryan A. Vienna for Councilmember, District 4. That Section 10229 of the Elections Code allows one of the following courses of action to be taken by the City Council for each of the elections of Mayor, District 2 Councilmember, and District 4 Councilmember: 1. Appoint to the office the person who has been nominated. 2. Appoint to the office any eligible elector (voter) if no one has been nominated. 3. Hold the election if either no one or only one person has been nominated. The City Council will meet on March 18, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at the City of San Dimas Council Chamber, 245 East Bonita Avenue, San Dimas CA, to either make the appointment or direct an election to be held, for each office. The persons appointed, if any, shall qualify and take office and serve exactly as if elected at a municipal election for the office. If, by the 75th day before the municipal election, no person has been appointed to the office of Mayor, Councilmember District 2, or Councilmember District 4 pursuant to (1) or (2) above, then the election for the unappointed office or offices shall be held.
